Jazz 1U/1U (1st pressing with Attached Poster)

This first pressing is absolutely stunning and is probably the best I have ever heard and includes the infamous poster which remains 100% attached, so incredibly rare today.  What makes it even rarer and more collectable is that it only has a single stamper on Side Two (R) proving that it was one of the very first off the press.  Side One has two stampers (RG) and even that is relatively rare as so many of the first pressings have three.

 Visual grading

  This vinyl is absolutely stunning.  There is only one tiny barely visible spindle line on each label and I am positive it has only been played the once, twice at most judging by the immaculate audio and the amazing glossy sheen it still has.  I can only detect one tiny blemish on Side One but it is so faint it is impossible to photograph and in no way affects the audio.  Aside from that I can only find a couple of very faint hairlines and you could easily be forgiven in thinking this vinyl is 'new' such is the fantastic condition.

Play grading

Amazingly there is no lead in static to 'Mustapha' whatsoever!  The track then plays with audio that just has to heard to be believed.  In fact the sound quality across the whole side is of the highest standard possible.  This is a genuine find as a first pressing of this quality so very rarely appears on the market.  The clarity of the recording is just incredible and in all honesty it plays as new which is so rare to find on a 1U/1U pressing.  The odd dust tick perhaps (which you even find on new vinyl let alone one that is near 40 years old!) but there is no static or crackle to speak of whatsoever.

Side Two more than equals Side One.  The clarity, richness and depth of the audio throughout is just a wonder to behold and I honestly do not think I have heard better.  There are a small number of mega faint dust ticks during 'Dreamers Ball' but this can't really be viewed as negative as the audio is still of the highest quality.  I very rarely grade as Mint but this immaculate audio quite honestly plays with that quality.  As always if the buyer is not happy with their purchase I offer a 100% refund policy plus I will pay the return shipping costs.  I am confident in grading this vinyl as Mint as I have listened to every second and my feedback confirms I am a reliable and trustworthy seller.  You will not find better audio on a 1U/1U first pressing, I am confident of that.

In summary this is another final upgrade archive copy LP I am selling.  I seem to have a few this month!  There is no discernible interference on this incredible vinyl at all and it definitely has the wow factor!  This is quite possibly the best I have heard and what with a superb gatefold plus attached poster this is a genuine rarity.

Gatefold Cover

This is a near perfect gatefold and to find a first pressing with the infamous poster still 100% attached is a mega rarity in itself.  The edges are in perfect order with no rubbing and even the corners have hardly any wear.  The spine remains 100% legible and the only area of wear is just to the right of the spine on the front cover where there are a couple of rub marks and one scratch type mark.  Other than that it is so close to being Mint and the opening edge also has no handling wear.  Both the black and white covers are very prone to marking/staining but these are spotlessly clean, without doubt one of the best 'Jazz' covers I have seen.  I hope the photos do it justice as it is a superb example of this iconic cover.  Of course being a first press it has the embossed 'Jazz' logo on the front.

The heavy duty card picture inner with the rounded corners is in great condition with only absolute minimal rubbing on a couple of areas.  And I do mean minimal!

These are in perfect condition with no spindle wear or marks/writing at all.
