Description
Live At Wembley '86 (Original UK 1st pressing 1992)
This now very collectable and relatively rare first pressing from 1992 plays with stunning quality and has hardly ever been played, the second record perhaps never as it has no spindle wear at all. The first has only a couple of tiny traces! The clarity and depth on offer is superb and rarely have I heard this album play with such dynamic power. A stunning press for certain. This plays so much better than the more recent inferior 'reissues'!
The cover is also very impressive with only minor shelf wear and the inners are almost 'as new'. It's rare to find this rare album in this condition today and especially at this start price!

Visual grading
The vinyls are in fantastic condition and look unplayed. The first record has only a couple of tiny spindle traces and on the second there is none at all and I am confident in saying they have been hardly played and that is confirmed by the quality of the audio. The second record has perhaps never been played at all. There are no obvious hairlines and there are certainly no scratches or marks. They are visually stunning with only what some call 'bag rash' i.e. a little fading although I would not be surprised if this was caused during manufacture. It is common on 90s vinyl and in no way affects the audio. Both records still have a lovely glossy sheen and the labels and run out grooves are also in superb order.
Play grading
S1 plays with great power and clarity and the only interference is on the first track 'One Vision' where there are three clicks during the quieter mid section. The next track 'Tie Your Mother Down' is stunning and you really get the feel for the 'live' experience. Turn it up and turn off the lights! 'In The Lap Of The Gods' again plays with immaculate quality, the depth and the power is so impressive and there is no interference whatsoever. This also applies to the remainder of the side. The clarity is as if the vinyl has never been played before and even the quieter sections play in immaculate style. The 'Da-doh' Freddie vocal is a prime example of that which is Mint- without question. Aside from the first track this side is Mint- all the way through. I have never heard a stronger live version of 'Under Pressure' it is superb.
S2 has very light static only on Freddie's spoken intro and this is also the case on the 'Who Wants To Live Forever' intro but it is minimal and totally non-intrusive. Barely any in fact on this first track, it is a very impressive Near Mint version. 'I Want To Break Free' quite simply 'as new' and 'Brighton Rock' is just incredible! The playback is so strong and powerful and provides one reason why this double album is so collectable today. No other medium replicates this sound! There is no distortion and I cannot emphasise enough just how superbly it plays! 'Now I'm here' ends the side in impressive style with no interference and with . There are a couple of static ticks on the fade out but without doubt this is a fantastic version overall and definitely deserves a Near Mint grading.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Love Of My Life' on S3 plays with immaculate audio from the very first groove. From Brian's spoken intro to the very end the clarity could not be any better. This is so rare as of course it is so quiet and yet there is no interference and this is also the case with 'Is This The World We Created?'. This is an absolutely stunning start to the side and to say they play 'as new' is not an exaggeration. Mint- without question. The following cover versions play to the same 'high end' standard as does 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. This has to be the 'cleanest' most impressive 'live' version I have ever heard on vinyl as there is no 'background' at all and lends weight to my theory that this record has never been played at all. Not one single click or pop, no static or crackle, not even a dust tick! Just pure Mint- audio in all its majestic glory. 'Hammer To Fall' then plays without fault, a dynamic powerhouse version if ever there was one.
S4 has only a small number of light static ticks on the spoken intro and 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' then plays 'as new' from start to finish. The remainder of the side is of the same standard and 'Radio Ga Ga' in particular is stunning. The production is so good on this LP as you can hear the hand clapping sequences perfectly well. From 'We Will Rock You' onwards the audio cannot be faulted, the clarity and power is second to none. 'We Are The Champions' has no inner groove distortion and 'ends' this classic album in fine style with no interference either. For a 'final' track the audio definition is very impressive - just turn up the 'loud' crescendo end section and you will see what I mean! 'God Save The Queen' finally ends proceedings with perfect clarity and no 'background'.
In summary this now rare and very collectable double album will certainly impress the new owner! With only three seconds maximum of obvious interference across all four sides the clarity and sonic quality on offer is absolutely breathtaking. I honestly believe the first record has only been played twice at most and the second perhaps never at all. The audio is so strong and when you turn it up loud there is no distortion on the top end i.e. there is no groove wear at all causing a deterioration in sound quality. The vast majority is Mint- the playback is stunning. It is not easy to find this original LP today in this condition and should command a lot of interest. The gatefold is also in excellent condition with only minor shelf wear and the picture inners are practically 'as new'. A stunning 'package' overall.
The Gatefold
Theses are so often found in poor condition but this is definitely not in that category! The top edges are in superb order and the bottom edges have only minimal rubbing, just a little more near the right hand corners. The wide spine is very clean with only a couple of small rubs. The corners are in excellent shape with the bare minimum of wear although the bottom right ones do have just a little more, still nothing major. The opening edges unsurprisingly are pristine with no handling wear at all. The front cover is very clean with only a couple of circular marks top right where the original stickers were and the back cover has no marking whatsoever, just a couple of minor creases next to the spine. The inside of the gatefold is pristine. Not perfect but this is definitely one of the cleanest covers you will find today on this rare pressing.
The Picture Inners
The glossy inners are so close to being perfect! There are just a couple of mega tiny corner rubs and one very small rub on one edge. There are no splits and no marking and are in superb condition overall.
The Labels
All four labels are in superb shape with no marking/writing and next to no spindle wear as stated.
