Queen : Live Killers Red / Green Coloured Vinyl (Japan) + Obi

This very collectable Japanese pressing of Live Killers is in spectacular condition and having played every side in full I can confirm the audio plays to the highest standard possible.  There is no interference at all and the labels have no spindle wear so this may well be a album that has never been played before, it certainly sounds like it!

The gatefold is in superb order with only minimal wear and the Obi is of course included and remains in excellent condition.  The fold out lyric sheet is pristine and the red/green inner sleeves have no side splits and only a little foxing.

Visual grading

The two vinyls are visually stunning and have an immaculate glossy sheen.  In essence they are 'as new' with no marks, hairlines or scratches.  The strong vivid colours are still very much in evidence and they both retain that almost transparent quality.  Fantastic examples!

Play grading

The audio on all four sides is absolutely stunning!  From the opening 'thunderclap' signaling the intro to the fast version of 'We Will Rock You' through to 'God Save The Queen' on S4 the clarity and power of audio is exceptional.  I have played all four sides in full and I can confidently say there is no interference at all.  The quieter sections play with such precision and that is very much in evidence on S2 during the quieter passage on Now I'm Here' and throughout 'Dreamers Ball' and the classic 'Love Of My Life'. There is not even a single dust tick let alone anything more, the clarity truly is outstanding.

S3 and S4 also impress with stunning clarity and depth from start to finish.  The extended version of 'Brighton Rock' again provides more proof that this record has hardly been played if at all!  There is no 'background' and that applies to the many quieter sections also.  The iconic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' plays faultlessly and is quite possibly the finest version I have ever heard on Live Killers.  'We Will Rock You' and 'We Are The Champions' end the album with, you guessed it, superb audio and no interference.

In summary this double album could not play any better.  The sonic quality on all four sides is so strong and I reiterate there is no interference!  One of the most impressive aspects of this double album is the fact that there is no distortion, another sign that it has hardly ever been played.  A stunning album!

The Gatefold & Obi

The cover is in superb order with very minimal shelf wear.  The top edges are super clean with only a couple of minor 'rubs' and the bottom edges are in perfect condition.  The wide spine has only a little wear on the corners and the right hand corners are in superb shape with no wear of any kind.  The opening edges are pristine.  Both the front and back covers remain in fantastic condition and the inside is near perfect with only minimal and very light 'spotting' which is hardly visible if I'm honest.  The wraparound Obi (Y3,800) has just one tiny tear repair which I only just noticed, it is so small and not at all obvious.  The Obi just has a little foxing on the inside of the gatefold but this is again only very minor.  Overall this is a fine example of this cover and it remains very strong and robust as if it has been hardly handled.

The Fold Out Lyric Inner & Inner Sleeves

The lyric inner (with lyrics in Japanese and English) is in perfect condition with no marking or creasing.  The inner sleeves have no creasing or side splits and only a minimal amount of very light foxing, just a little more on the green one.

The Labels

They are in immaculate condition with no marking or writing and no spindle wear either.  They are 'as new'!
