Description
In 1977, British progressive hard rockers Queen released studio album number six. It's a rock and roll masterpiece, and includes the big hits "We Will Rock You", which goes right into "We Are the Champions". Other outstanding tracks include "It's Late", "Get Down, Make Love", and "Spread Your Wings". The entire album is great and has sold over SEVEN MILLION copies worldwide! And over FOUR MILLION of them here in the US alone...
The cover's artwork is iconic. It's the robot painting by American sci-fi artist Frank K. Freas, who had a painting that Queen liked, so Freas altered it slightly for the band. There's even a 'Family Guy' episode about Brian the dog scaring Stewie with the album cover! This was the second Queen record I remember buying as a kid, after 'A Night at the Opera'.
In 1997, and to celebrate the twenty year anniversary, a special VERY limited edition 12" picture disc LP was released. It looks like it came out in Germany, but actually printed up by the French division of EMI, a company now called EMI Pathe Marconi. The original album is a gatefold, and you have to open it up to see the entire picture. On this pic disc, the A side is the front cover's art, and the B side is the back cover of the original jacket (which you had to flip the record's jacket over to see drummer Roger Taylor).
The vinyl looks awesome, and was taken care of since this came out. It's still all shiny and clean! There's only one or two very, very light surface marks on it, but they're hardly noticable. No scratches, gouges, or scuffs. I can't vouch for the sound quality as I never play specialty vinyl such as pic discs or colored records. But it looks great, and is a cool slab of vinyl to own! It will come in a generic PVC sleeve.
A truly iconic album from a very legendary band: Queen! Relive the 70s with a timeless classic, and grab this rare Queen collectible before its gone forever!
(RIP Freddie the superstar. You were the definition of a rock star who had amazing talent. You are gone way too soon, but will never be forgotten. Thank you for an incredible legacy of great music. You are missed!)
Shipping worldwide! Ebay has enrolled me in their international shipping program and handles all fees, paperwork, and we are both covered if anything happens in transit. And I pack well, using cardboard mailers and/or bubble wrap and padded mailers. So your item should get to you, wherever you are, in good shape!
Please know that I don't make money on shipping. In fact sellers usually lose money on shipping, as eBay keeps a portion. Expedited shipping is available to anyone who wants it. USPS's Ground Advantage is close to Priority Mail with delivery, adds $100 of insurance, and is less than Priority. If you NEED it a little faster, just choose and pay for that option when checking out.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Ask me about combined shipping when you make multiple purchases. If there are any problems once you receive your item(s), please give me a chance to make it right. MOST problems are easily resolved... Immediate payment if I accept your best offer, please. Also, if you try to make a seriously low-ball offer, it will automatically decline it. (REASONABLE offers usually get automatically accepted.) Thanks for stopping by. Take care, and have a good day!
