Description

This first pressing is absolutely stunning! A FINAL UPGRADE in every way. There is no interference and the only background is 3/4 minor statics on the 'Dear Friends' fade out and believe me they are very quiet! The clarity, depth and warmth of the audio is incredible on both sides and I cannot remember when I last heard one as clean and precise as this one. The vinyl is also in lovely condition and looks hardly played. It's from a very well preserved collection I purchased recently so it's not surprising it plays as well as it does!
The laminated cover is also in fantastic condition with barely any wear and has retained its original shape and structure perfectly. One of the best I have ever seen, a Near Mint cover in fact. The original lyric inner (with three cut corners) is very clean and has only one small side split.

Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition with a strong glossy sheen and no marks or scratches. Under a bright light I can only see a small number of very faint hairlines and there is nothing that stands out. The EMI labels are more or less 'as new' with only two tiny very faint spindle traces on S1.
Play Grading
The run in on S1 as you set the stylus down is crystal clear and the 'fairground' intro on 'Brighton Rock' plays to perfection also. Brian's opening refrain is just as strong and Freddie's first vocal is flawless. So far... as new! It continues to play with a sonic quality that is second to none - the clarity and definition on each note is breathtaking and it honestly plays like it has never been on a turntable before! The classic instrumental passage is a fine example of that - the clarity and power of the audio is phenomenal and even as the volume descends to near silence there is still no background. Ok a couple of minor statics towards the end but nothing intrusive and then the final vocal / instrumental play with imperious quality. This is easily a Mint- start to the album.
'Killer Queen' again provides further evidence of a barely played vinyl. The clarity and warmth of the audio is outstanding, I cannot fault it. From start to finish there is not one dust tick let alone anything more and Mint is very much deserved.
Another classic in 'Tenement Funster' and the intro and opening vocal play with perfect clarity. As the drums come in the playback is just as strong and clear and the first chorus is just stunning. You tend to forget Brian's work on this track but his following solo is faultless. It continues to play with impeccable quality and I cannot overstate how well it plays. In my opinion this is the definitive version and is Mint all the way.
The piano segue into 'Flick Of The Wrist' has no intrusion and the intro is equally as clean. The opening vocal / chorus is stunning and once again I am so impressed by the sheer quality of the music. It is so clean and precise and the power and depth is out of this world. Take the mid instrumental for example - 'as new' without a doubt and that applies to the rest of the track, the entire track! The best, strongest version I have ever heard. Mint
The piano intro on 'Lily Of The Valley' plays beautifully and the opening vocal has one barely audible static. This high end standard is kept up as it progresses and again I cannot fault the clarity of sound. It even seems a little harsh to grade as Mint- but there you go :-)
The iconic intro on 'Now I'm Here' is flawless and Freddie's opening vocal has no background either. This is a track that is renown for its distortion but as the volume increases here there is no discernible change in audio. It proceeds in the same way with no interference - perhaps a hint of inner groove distortion on the final third but so minor and totally non-intrusive. It's kind of just what you expect really and Mint- is still deserved in my opinion.

Another pristine run in and the intro / Roger's 'scream' on 'In The Lap Of the Gods' is stunning, it could not play any better. The fade in / out / in is equal to that and the vocal section then plays with sublime clarity and depth as does the rest of this classic track. Every section is 'as new' with not one iota of interference. Mint in every way.
'Stone Cold Crazy' rocks out loud and true (as you would expect) with no background or distortion. Immense power and definition from start to finish. Mint
You might expect a little intrusion on the very quiet 'Dear Friends' and yet it plays so clearly with only 3/4 minor statics right at the end. Near Mint
'Misfire' then plays with stunning precision and zero interference. Each note is so clean and distinct, you miss nothing. Another 'as new' Mint track.
'Bring Back That Leroy Brown' again shows how well this record has been preserved and plays with impeccable quality through every section including the quieter vocal towards the end. Classic Queen showing their versatility. Mint
The almost hypnotic 'She Makes Me...' is of the same high end standard with a clarity, depth and warmth that cannot be faulted. The most 'complete' version you are every likely to hear! Mint
And the same applies to the final track 'In The Lap Of The Gods...revisited' which plays with phenomenal audio throughout. You can turn it up to max without fear of distortion and that includes the powerful 'choral' section and bomb! A couple of barely audible statics on the fade out but it really could not play any better. Easily a Mint- conclusion to this STUNNING album.
The Cover & Lyric Inner
The laminated cover is in fantastic condition with barely any wear. The edges and spine are so clean, just one minor rub on the bottom edge and minor corner rub bottom right that about sums it up. A handful of minor laminate creases either side of the spine but that is common of course. A stunning cover for sure and easily deserving of a Near Mint grade.
The paper lyric inner is also in excellent shape with just one small split on the right edge. It is unmarked, a rarity, and the thumb notch area has very little wear. It has hardly any creasing also.

Postage & Packaging
I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
