Description
This is a fine original stereo U.S. pressing copy of the second LP by Question Mark and the Mysterians, released in 1967. From the Detroit area, the group are known for one of the epochal hits of the 1960s, "96 Tears," which shot to #1 in both the U.S. and Canada when re-released on the Cameo Parkway label in 1966. Their follow-up single, "I Need Somebody," reached #22. Both of these singles were on their debut. Their second LP contains no hits, and fewer group compositions (5/11), but is similar in sound and quality to their debut, and sees them stretching out a bit on a credible cover of the Isley Brothers' "Shout." The group was notable for being one of many Latino rock groups to have national success during the decade. The jacket has a cutout hole and a plus sign (+) in a box embossed on the front cover (see photo), but is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). The disc is clean with some light scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise -- EX(-). The disc labels are a variant of the standard Cameo Parkway labels, one included in the Discogs entry for the LP. A pressing date of "6-20-67" is etched in the side 2 runout grooves.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
