Description
Here we have a copy of In Blissful Company by the Notting Hill psychedelic outfit Quintessence on the iconic pink Island label from 1969. This has seen a bit of use over the past 43 years of its existence but is still in pretty good order. The cover has some wear on the spine but the print is still legible. Comes complete with the booklet with cut-outs (rather like the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar) still firmly stuck into the gatefold sleeve (there is a small tear from rather over zealous gluing) and looks superb. The vinyl has scuffs which do not sound, what look like mild fingernail scuffs cause no detriment to the overall sound. The dead wax matrices are ILPS 9110Q A//1 and B//2 which suggests a very early pressing and the Q is there for the band's name, something that didn't happen for every band on this label. This is a lovely piece of old vinyl that would be a pleasure in any collection of psychedelia and progressive rock. The best way I can muster to describe the band is that they were a sort of tantric Hawkwind with more emphasis on Eastern religion and inner peace than outer space. PLEASE NOTE that ebay.ca describe this item as Like New which I do not. It's pretty good but it's not like a new record at all. I don't know why they do this, please look at my description for the correct assessment. Good stuff for the troubled head. Om Tat Sat.
