Quartetto by Quartetto di Lucca - PML 10361
A hugely rare Italian Jazz LP on the RCA ITALIANA label. Released in about 1963 with, supposedly, only 1,000 copies pressed. The LP comes in its original RCA poly-lined 'advertising' inner.

Play - testing
The LP has been play-graded on a Pro-ject Debut III TT through AKG K240 headphones. Such headphones are quite unforgiving when trying to detect any flaws and pick up any and all background noise. The details are as follows
Side One??
Track 1 (Quartetto) - Light background crackle
Track 2 (Soft Winds) - Light background crackle. Anything louder would show up quite distinctly during the bass solo but it is just a very light background crackle.
Track 3 (Night In Tunisia) - Three 'clicks' after about 60 seconds and several faint 'clicks' toward the end of the track, particularly during the more sparse bass solo. The music on this track is also quite loud in places with any possible background noise mostly masked. The track ends with a few more louder 'clicks'.
Side Two
Track 1 (Estate '61) - Background crackle at the start of the track is louder than on side one but not badly so and in no way detracts from the music. For the remainder of the track it is a light background crackle. There are also two quiet 'pops' after about 2 minutes.
Track 2 (Gabry) - Mostly light background crackle but it is barely detectable as the track gains volume and is more prominent in the bass solo section and other quieter passages. There is one quiet-ish 'pop' in the middle of the track and a few 'clicks'.
Track 3 (Blues for Carole N. 2) - Just quiet background crackle
Track 4 (Like Someone In Love) - Mostly quiet background crackle that very briefly gets louder now and then.
Based on how it plays I would definitely grade it as Very Good minus
Visual Inspection? (please see the grading guide below)
Viewed under a 35w halogen lamp, side one has one medium scratch and lots of other faint scratches and scuffs that are only truly visible under the lamp; side two has lots of faint scratches and scuffs that, again, only become properly visible under the lamp and are virtually invisible under normal lighting. However, how it looks supports the VG minus grading from how it plays.
??Both labels are clean and unmarked apart from some faint spindle trails.
The inner sleeve is in fantastic, almost new, condition.
The cover has an ink inscription on the back, a 5 cm split along the top seam, a 3cm split at the top of the spine, some surface 'rubbing', scoring and a small surface tear on the back, and there is a hint of ringwear. The splits and the ink inscription are reflected in the cover grading which would otherwise be Very Good minus.

We visually examine all our records under a strong halogen lamp, which shows up ALL defects, and grade our records according to the Rare Record Price Guide, briefly, as follows:??
Mint - Must be sealed or we must have evidence that it has never been played.?
Excellent - No scratches, not even 'hairlines' (these are very fine and barely visible dust or sleeve withdrawal marks), or any visible damage to the vinyl whatsoever. (Others would call this Near Mint or even Mint).?
Very Good - The first mild scratches have begun to appear, but only very, very few.?
Good - More scratches than Very Good and more severe, but we are confident that the record will play through with no problems.?
Fair - It may not play through properly.?
Poor - It definitely won't play.?
Below Excellent we will use plus or minus with a grade to highlight fine differences.??
