To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of the legendary diamond-certified single Bohemian Rhapsody released in 1975 by the reigning kings of rock Queen the album will be reissued on a deluxe vinyl edition! The 7-inch single will be released in Japan on a direct import colored vinyl edition with a limited run of 800 copies. The album A Night at the Opera released in November 1975 and featuring the unwavering lineup of Freddie Mercury Brian May Roger Taylor and John Deacon reached number one on the charts in five countries around the world including the UK. The lead single Bohemian Rhapsody enjoyed a then-record nine-week run at No. 1 on the UK charts. It remains one of the greatest singles of all time and most recently topped Gold Radio's Top 300 Hall of Fame a popular chart voted by listeners. I believed in 'Bohemian Rhapsody' from the very beginning Taylor said. I remember when Fred first played us the idea for the song and I thought wow this is something special. And it was. When it was first released in 1975 Bohemian Rhapsody set a new record by spending nine consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the UK singles chart. As a band Queen had truly risen to the pinnacle of their musical potential. Meanwhile the song's promotional video remains arguably one of the most influential music videos of all time. Following the death of Freddie Mercury Bohemian Rhapsody was re-released in 1991 and once again reached number one in the UK. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004 and was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2022. Bohemian Rhapsody put us on the map not just in the UK but in America Australia and around the world says guitarist Brian May. The single includes the same lyrics as when it was first released.
