Description

An original 1st press of JAZZ on custom EMI labels. Matrix 1U/1U. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold with the embossing on the front and rear. Please note the nude photoshoot is PRESENT & Attached still [unusual!]. We have the original fully laminated inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In marvellous condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ of playback with one deviation. Like I said above - you shouldn't be going for anything less than this sort of level. A blindingly good player totally clean signalled. Clean into the quietest spots - a near perfect rendition. Plays with energy and power for those explosive moments - but delicate and clean for those melancholy piano driven numbers. The only I issue I can make is a couple of half second pulses of distortion right early in the intro to 'Mustapha'. Given it is so early on the LP [in the very openings seconds], and the rest of the LP plays so darn well, it is a small compromise to make. Highly recommended.
Cover (Ex-) A real pain in the ar*e to find in decent condition. Ageing is often a problem - particularly on the rear. It's unlaminated and will nearly always exhibit surface wear - particularly on the embossed areas. BUT - this example seems to avoided much of these problems. The front is very flat and unaged without surface wear. Just one slight bump in the extreme top right [at the edge -- minor cosmetic]. The rear looks good to and seems to have avoided most of the ageing that is so often apparent. The interior is superb - no issues. Very little edge wear nice sharp firm openings. The spine looks great with minimal wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) It was built to last - and it has. Very nice looking a touch of ageing at opening. No splits.
Poster (Ex) It is still attached [which is unusual]. Slight 1c.m. tear at the perforated join [I have put a small amount of tape on the rear to stop it deteriorating].
