Hello! Here is the RAMMELZEe VS K. ROB "BEAT BOP" (AKA RAMMELLZEE) TAR TOWN RECORDS RE-ISSUE OF 1983 12IN It was purchased new by me at Armand's in Philly. The grading is ex cover nm vinyl. The sleeve just has some mild shelf wear on the corners and back. Took pictures of front and back. Vinyl has only been played once. One of the most influential and sought after records in hip hop. Originals go for thousands and this first reissue done by tar town is almost as rare. 500 copies I think. Famous for the jean-michel basquiat artwork as well as influencing everyone from cypress hill to the beastie boys.
Basquiat 'Beat Bop' History:

Designed solely by Jean-Michel Basquiat, the front and back covers of the record are typical of his style, featuring a graffiti-influenced, chaotic clash of imagery and text. In contrast to his colorful canvas work, however, they are drawn in black and white. The front cover includes rough sketches of bones, what appears to be a crown, an explosion (and within it, the word “bang!” in capital letters), and Roman numerals. The record labels are in the same style, even going as far as originally not mentioning the artists involved in its production or the name of the track. Due to Basquiat’s fame, original copies exchange hands for over four figures. The single was repressed in 2001 by Tartown Records, the label that initially released it, with its original cover art retained. Many of hip-hop's earliest records have achieved the level of legendary status. Few hip-hop records, however, have ascended to a legendary status of near-mythic proportion. Produced in 1983, NY street artist Jean-Michel Basquiat booked and bankrolled the studio session that resulted in this now-classic track. For the 'record', the artist apparently had the intention of rapping on the track as well, but his plan got the bum's rush when microphone fiends Rammellzee and K-Rob laid claim to the booth. Still, Monsieur Basquiat's missing link to early hip-hop music can readily be found on the cover of the Beat Bop 12" single, which today is one of the most desired discs in hip-hop and pop art circles.
