Note: Well here it is the single that was supposed to define and popularize punk. Legend has is that the Ramones were about to show the world what punk rock was all about with the release of 'Sheena..'.  Then the plan met the wrench.  On the eve of a major US tour Joey scalded himself on a kettle while warming up his vocal chord and had to postpone.  Before they could get back into action the Sex Pistols came to the US left an irreversibly poor impression of punk on the press that would have the music industry suppressing the genre for the next 20 years (till they found a way the clean it up with Green Day). So there you have it.  The Ramones were snaked out of their opportunity to define and popularize punk rock by the Pistols.  Instead of mop-tops and leather jackets punk become Mohawks, moshing and spitting.  Not that I don’t love the Pistols but man were they misrepresented!
