We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. - East Los Angeles Legends! Hot of the heels of Cannibal & The Headhunters' number 30 national hit single, "Land Of 1000 Dances", An album with the same title was released and would make Billboard's Hot 100 in June 1965.
With "Land of 1000 Dances," by Los Angeles' Cannibal & the Headhunters had one of the great party hits of the '60s. It hit number 30 on the charts and inspired one of Wilson Pickett's finest covers. The group never followed it up with any hits, but their album,"Land of 1000 Dances" is a lost classic, one of the strongest you are likely to hear from a mid-'60s "party" band. Backed by musicians borrowed from the cream of the city's Latin groups like Thee Midniters and the Premiers, the group runs through a selection of contemporary hits like the Temptations' "My Girl," Junior Walker's "Shotgun," and the Ad Libs' "The Boy from New York City" and a handful of originals composed by the band and fellow musician friends of the Headhunters family like Chick Carlton and Larry Tamblyn. The grooves throughout both sides are fun and energetic, but the originals like "Strange World," a powerful ballad led by Frankie "Cannibal" Garcia's yearning lead, the stomping brown-eyed soul shouter "Don't Let Her Go," and "The Fat Man," a loose frat rocker with some wild harmonica, demonstrate what an exciting and fun band they were. The only fault with the album is that the group never followed it up -- which is not a fault on the album!

The "Land Of 1000 Dances" album is a great mix of garage/ funk and soul. Much in the same vein as the great Michigan group, Midnighters. The tracks are comprised of cover versions of hit records and covers of songs written by singer/song writers of the Eastside Sound.
The national hit single "Land Of 1000 Dances" is the opening track followed by cover versions of "The Boy From New York City", "My Girl", "Searchin" and "Out Of Sight" and Max Uballez & The Romancers' "Don't Let Her Go"
Side B includes a cover version of "Shotgun" and two songs written by Chick Carlton "Devil In Disguise" and "Strange World" which was previously recorded by The Majestics (Atlantics). The band's second single "Here Comes Love" written by Larry Tamblyn is my favorite track. "Get Your Baby" was written by Wayne Edwards and Randy Thomas of The Mixtures and was previously recorded by The Premiers, The Blendells and Mark & The Escorts. The last track, "The Fat Man" is an original credited to Max Uballez, Billy Cardenas and Frankie Garcia.
