Description
For auction is the RANDY WESTON TRIO's "Jazz A La Bohemia," on Riverside RLP 12-232 MONO, DG, 1957. With Cecil Payne.
SOUND: VG+
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, excellent playback, very nice! For completeness, I mention very soft surface noise, with a few soft "tics" here and there, nothing at all that is distracting. As well, there is a very soft "thump" for approximately 10 revolutions in B2, "It's All Right With Me." (Due to a slight depression in the vinyl.) I'm being very critical -- The playback is still all you'd want from a VG+ recording!
VINYL: VG+
Visually, the vinyl looks very nice, with no scratches or scuffs of any significance. Other than slight smudges, very fresh-looking. There is a small "depression" in the vinyl that corresponds to the faint "thump" described above. I've seen and heard this numerous times with a small depression, or more often with a small "bubble" in the vinyl. I don't think I can describe it any better than that...
This is an original copy on white "mike-and-reel" with deep grooves
COVER: VG+
The cover is righteous! Edges and spine are solid with minimal wear. The corners have minor softening with a touch of fraying. The front laminated cover is great, with little-to-no wear, the back cover is very clean and unmarked, with minor, routine aging.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
A beautiful original copy that looks and plays great! No reserve, bidding starts at $25.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
