Description

Artist:  Various Artists (Brought to you by Chevron)

Album:  The Music Makers: Percussion

Year:  1974

Label, Cat #:  Standard Oil Company of California, SOCAL M-21

The legendary album that is on every digger’s list.  This album not only features two great drum breaks, but excellent spoken word bits that pertain to sampling, including the famous bit sampled by DJ Shadow for his gamechanging Endtroducing album.  I can’t believe I haven’t heard the tabla drum parts of this record used on something.  This record was released only to educational facilities to teach kids about the groups of instruments as a public service by Chevron Oil.
