Description
RARE ENRICO CARUSO L-Purple X-1551 Luna Fedel 78RPM.
This Zonophone of Caruso singing 'Luna Fedel' by composer Renato Zardo is one of seven recorded on April 19, 1903. It’s extremely rare and collectible.
I inherited this from a family member who was a serious collector and traveled every summer to see Opera in Europe. He purchased this Zonofono over 60 years ago there. He had it custom framed and in pride of place on his wall ever since.
Please note: I remember listening to it when he rarely took it down to play it and it was a clear voice and orchestra, but I don’t have a record player able to play it now. Photos are unedited.
Along with Un Bacio Ancora, this recording is even rarer than his other five Zono titles. Records made by the companies Zonophone and Pathe are Caruso's rarest--they almost never made it to America.
Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso is considered by many people the most famous opera singer of all time and the biggest recording artist of the early 20th century.
