*VERY RARE* 1931 12 INCH LONG PLAY (33 1/3 RPM!) RCA VICTOR PROGRAM TRANSCRIPTION record:
GRAND CANYON SUITE Part 3 (CLOUDBURST) and Part 4 (ON THE TRAIL) by Paul Whiteman and His Concert Orchestra.
Both sides play well on my modern turntable with light weight tonearm. Both sides have light scratches, light scuffs. Expect play wear consistent with an RCA Program Transcription record that was played on vintage equipment.
*Includes its rare attractive original 12 inch RCA Victor Program Transcription sleeve!* Tiny sticker on one side of sleeve.
Brief background on these records: In 1931, RCA Victor Company released these innovative 33 1/3 RPM Long Play Program Transcription Records in 10 inch and 12 inch sizes. These records were expensive and the records required expensive equipment to play them. On top of this, the timing was poor since the Great Depression was at its worst and very few people had any money. The records were a flop and very few were sold. And fewer have survived, especially the 12 inch ones like this since they were even more expensive than the 10 inch ones.
