Rare ABBOTT & COSTELLO Comedy Program Radio Transcription Discs
Pair of 16-inch transcription discs from 1947
Please see images below description
Offered in this listing is a pair of scarce transcription discs. They are from the January 30, 1947, broadcast of the Abbott & Costello Program. Labels indicate that they were by the Frankay and Jackson Recording Studio in New York. The labels also state "N.B.C. 10 p.m." One of the discs is labelled 1-30-47 PART ONE, while the other is 1-30-47 PART TWO.
Not intended for use by the public, Electrical Transcription Discs (as you almost certainly know if you are reading this far) were distributed to radio stations for broadcast. Speed = 33 1/3 rpm.
SIZE: 16 inches in diameter.
CONDITION: The discs were not tested, since we do not have a turntable that can play this type of disc. They really need a professional quality cleaning (or with a high end piece of cleaning equipment). We do not see any scratches of note that should affect audio quality. The sleeves are in fair to poor condition. They are labeled "Audio Devices," which is the same name as that found on the labels on the back of the discs, so I assume they are original. The images show condition of labels, etc.
