Description
Where would the evolution of rock ‘n’ roll have gone if not for the late great Gene Vincent?! Here’s the very first album by the young man who had such an acknowledged impact on Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and countless other rockers who came after him. Sir Paul covered “Bluejean Bop” on his 1999 album Run Devil Run. You’re bidding on the entire wonderful 3-record extended play first pressing of Vincent’s debut album; ALL THREE PARTS! The Virginia native was backed by His Blue Caps (Galloping Cliff Gallup on lead guitar, Jumpin’ Jack Neal on bass, Wee Willie Williams on rhythm guitar and Be-Bop Harrell on drums); Vincent was only 21 years old. The 45 RPM EP set is Capitol Records #EAP-764; it is a High Fidelity Recording. This is the original pressing on the old green Capitol Records label. The vinyl is in extraordinary shape for 50 year old records! I do not have a turntable so I can’t play these, but visually I see nothing but the most superficial of marks or wear; absolutely no scratches—I took photos of all 3 records so you can see how glossy and clean they are! The outer sleeves are in quite good condition, but you can see a little mildew at the very bottom on the back of each sleeve; this does not seem to have affected the records themselves. I am not a seller of recordings, but having looked at how people grade records on eBay, I’d subjectively call these records VG or VG+; I don’t believe you’ll be dissatisfied. They do not have the original innersleeves. Part 1 (EAP 1-764) contains Bluejean Bop; Jezebel; Ain’t She Sweet; and Jumps, Giggles, and Shouts. Part 2 (EAP 2-764) contains Who Slapped John; Up a Lazy River; Bop Street; and That Old Gang of Mine. Part 3 (EAP 3-764) contains I Flipped; Waltz of the Wind; Jump Back, Honey, Jump Back; and Peg O’My Heart. This album later came out as an LP (Capitol T-764) with more songs added (those include: Woman Love; Be Bop A Lula; Race with the Devil; Gonna Back Up Baby; Well I Knocked Him Bam Bam; and Crazy Legs). Shipping weight is 2 lbs. carefully boxed to arrived undamaged; double-boxed and sealed in plastic to prevent water/moisture damage while en route. I accept PayPal, checks and money orders—your choice, but I do hold your item for up to 10 business days while your personal check clears.
