Up for auction is a very collectable and rare early rock 'n' roll acetate 45 rpm record by Ritchie Valens titled Donna b/w La Bamba, Del-Fi Records, manufactured by Capitol/Custom in California, 1958. Here is a chance to own a piece of rock history with this uniqe disc. Acetates are made during the preparation of a record for manufacture, tape of the recording being transferred to a lacquer-coated metal disc, mastering. It is the last opportunity for the sound of the recording to be adjusted. Now about the disc, there is writing on both sides of record label and is a little wore. The vinyl has marks, but still retains gloss and shine. I played both sides on my Sony turntable and the Donna side has a lot of punch, the La Bama side has some of the metal showing in 3 small spots at beginning (1) and two at end. I played it and no sticks or skips, a couple of loud ticks. Record has been played to insure there are no warps, skips, sticks, cracks, ect.... Overall grading, good for such a unique disc , maybe better. A great addition to any Ritchie Valens collection, and don't show up for auction very often.
