Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. SUPERIOR 1965 UK first printing

w/ laminated sleeve

FULL FREQUENCY RANGE (FFRR) UNBOXED DECCA = UK PRESS

The rare mono release offers different song mixes from the stereo issue and contains a full thick punch in the sound production, much different from the stereo release.

Exceedingly hard to find pressing ...

The 50+ years old Original BRITISH Decca pressing is far superior to the USA issue containing 14 tracks ( including different song selections) over the 12 track USA issue

1965 UK 14-track deep groove mono LP on the red un-boxed Decca label, released the same day as her debut, Come My Way, but focussing entirely on "swinging London" pop-rock grooves. Includes such gems like As Tears Go By written by Jagger & Richards, & a version of the Lennon-McCartney tune, I'm A Loser, plus an early Jimmy Page written tune. The front laminated picture sleeve is David Bailey photography.

Marianne Faithful's 1965 self titled album was considered her best, with her top hits of the mid sixties and features her biggest poprock hit of the swinging London scene with "As Tears Go By", a song the Stones would make their own hit out of a year later.

Coaxed into a singing career by Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham in 1964, she had a big hit in both Britain and the U.S. with her debut single, the Jagger/Richards composition "As Tears Go By" (which prefaced the Stones' own version by a full year). Considerably more successful in England than the States, she had a series of hits in the mid-'60s that set her high, fragile voice against delicate poprock arrangements: "I'm A Loser (Beatles)," "My Time Of Sorrow (written by Jimmy Page)," and "Come and Stay with Me." Not a songwriter at the outset of her career, she owes more of her fame as a '60s icon to her extraordinary beauty and her long-running romance with Mick Jagger, although she offered a taste of things to come with her compelling 1969 single "Sister Morphine," which she co-wrote (and which the Stones released themselves on Sticky Fingers later). This album takes the listener back to innocent times with the special sound of the happening poprock scene in mid 60's England.

The Vinyl:  is rated VG++ clean, few micro soft surface scuffs with exception of two short hair scuffs on track 3 side one few little ticks, the good thing is nothing being pronounced, so play grade was quite satisfying without further issue here...then you have the clean maroon DECCA mono "ffrr' labels making it a solid collection keeper !
