For auction a RARE 1966 1st U.K MONO PRESSING LP OF “ BLUES BREAKERS “ by JOHN MAYALL WITH ERIC CLAPTON. This item is from a smoke and pet free home. DON’T MISS THIS CLASSIC OF 60’s BLUES !!
This mono 12” L.P pressing was released by DECCA RECORD COMPANY LTD on LK4804. This is an early “ GROOVED “ label issue with a circular groove under the red labels , 1.5 cms in from the outer edge. The stamped matrix runout is stamped into both sides of the album ( please see close up photos .)
As can be seen on the left hand edge of the close up photos of the album’s red and silver labels , the N.C.B / B.I.E.M credits run vertically with the year 1966 printed above.
The vinyl is in excellent condition and plays clearly throughout with no background noise even between tracks. As can be seen from the close up label photos there is no writing , marks or stains only minor spindle lines.
The classic “ BEANO “ cover is in very good clean condition with no creases, marks, writing , stains etc. The spine is solid with clear labelling ( please see photos. ) This classic piece of vinyl features Clapton singing solo for the first time singing Robert Johnson’s “ Ramblin’ on My Mind “ before moving on to his Cream years. Clapton claimed in his autobiography that he started reading the BEANO as he got bored with the photo session for the album cover.
The album will be protected with bubble wrap and solid cardboard for safety during postage.
