Description
This NO RESERVE Auction is for a little piece of American Music History. The album is from the group COVEN called Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls. Yes, the group who gave us the sappy Billy Jack song "One Tin Soldier" and had a music video produced by Disney, put out this original Gothic Rock/Heavy Metal album back in 1969. The first track called "Black Sabbath" and the bass player named Oz Osborne predates England's heavy metal group "Black Sabbath" and Ozzy Osbourne by several months. They are also credited with originating the Bull Horn hand sign now so prevalent in the Rock world. This album was pulled from the shelves soon after its release by Mercury Records after a controversial article in Esquire Magazine that referenced this album along with the horrible Charles Manson's Tate-La Bianca Murders. Therefore, few of these survive today. The album is in Excellent condition and looks as if it has hardly ever been played. There is some light scratches visible and it has NOT been tested. The cover is in Very Good condition with storage related wear to it. Most noticeably along the edges and corners. There is noticeable ring wear. One of the flaps on the inside of the cover contains the album's lyrics. For the sake of keeping this auction "family friendly" and so as not to offend the easily offend-able, I have omitted one picture of the inside of the cover which contains nudity. This is an older, used, vintage item and will have signs of age/storage/transportation wear and soiling. Please examine pictures closely. Item is being sold "AS IS".
