PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Very beautiful organ-driven album with exceptional songwriting and singing.

Cressida had actually begun as ''The Dominators'' (later renamed to ''Charge''), when guitarist John Heyworth joined them, followed by thre charismatic vocalist Angus Cullen. After a 69' German tour talented organist Peter Jennings joined them to form CRESSIDA.
Cressida mostly played the university and college circuits as well as London clubs such as the Speakeasy, Revolution and Blaises and the Marquee Club. They finally got a major label contract and released their self-titled first LP recorded at Wessex Studios with Ossie Byrne producing. It consisted of songs by either Cullen or Heyworth (who handled lead vocals on one), plus one contribution each by Jennings and, more surprisingly, Clark. One of those great classics of the era in that the more you hear it the more it grabs onto you, remaining a very good example of early 70's progressive rock...''Cressida'' lies somewhere between psychedelic/progrock ala THE BEATLES with blues touches, classic rock echoes and strong symphonic parts. Actually, the opener and closer of the album are beautiful, delicate symph-rock pieces of music, while the other tracks range from classic rock in the vein of DEEP PURPLE to acoustic-led smooth passages and bluesy/psychedelic compositions. As a last note,''Cressida'' is much a vocal-led album with no long instrumenta parts, but Cullen's deep and clear vocals will reward you to the maximum. All said, an excellent top collected album, showing a band with talent, potential and warm inspiration. IF you don't yet have, it is worth checking into your collection...

CONDITION: The Cover: laminated on front is near "EX" (excellent) with just a couple of spider web handling creases, typical for 40 year old laminated covers, and not bad at all and otherwise bright original colors and very desireable look. The back cover (non laminated) has some light shelf wear starting, but no matter, is minor, and has no split seams, no writing...
The Vinyl: very clean and glossy over both sides, "EX" (excellent) having only some real hard to see tiny hair scuffs from inner paper inner sleeve, like that, the grooves are clean and expect play grade to be outstanding clarity...CLEAN Fontana labels make this a considerable rarity that you don't often see...
