Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

RARE! ADVANCED RELEASE PROMOTIONAL ~ Original 1970 first pressing in THICK gatefold cover ....

The SECOND Mott The Hoople album from 1970 is great listening from start to finish, a real grower that gets better with each spin. This is before the band turned on into David Bowie-inspired/glam rock, we would call this mainly an album of excellent early, memorable melody laden electric-rock . One of the all-time MOTT favorites is "No Wheels to Ride."  This is the original band, with keys & guitars and strong and emotive lead vocals from Ian Hunter (yes, his gravely voice does sound a bit like Bob Dylan at times). Supportive organ by Verden Allen, a great wailing guitar by Mick Ralphs (also provides vocals) and bass by Overend Watts, and Dale "Buffin" Griffin's drums. All songs by Hunter or Ralphs. (Ralphs moved on to Bad Company around 1974, bringing Mott the Hoople's song "Ready for Love" with him). If you're into early electric rock, don't know why you wouldn't like this album. It's very energetic, a little noisy, and smooth with catchy hooks."Thunderbuck Ram" is a deadly opener. The power-ballad "No Wheels To Ride" will, in time, outlive anything Meatloaf (or Jim Steinman) ever did. The dynamics on the whole album is incredible, on record, that is. You have to listen to the vinyl for the full impact. The mix is warm; the bass is mixed very high, even by '70's standards.

A: Thunderbuck Ram 4:51 No Wheels to Ride 6:02 You Are One of Use 3:22 Walkin With a Mountain 3:52 B:      I Can Feel 7:15 Threads of Iron 5:51 When My Minds Gone 6:25

CONDITION: The Cover: Very thick gatefold cover is dark and prone to heavy wear, this early PROMO pressing has but little shelf wear starting so will make for a decent final collection copy, rated at VG+(+). Promotional sticker at top right raises the value as a pre-release PROMO ... Very solid, no split seams, no bends, no writing

The Vinyl: all clean "EX" (excellent) and plays clean ... both White promo labels are clean

A cool addition to anyone's music library!
