Description
Excellent, guaranteed original, early-1970s PROMO-ONLY Funk/Soul LP by THE UNITED STATES NAVY - PORT AUTHORITY SOUL BAND entilted "Together" on The Navy Records (#72838, Stereo). Awesome vintage funky soul jazz beats album! Of the several Port Authority releases, this is BY FAR their best and funkiest. Personnel consists of: ROSE LEWIS – vocals, Don Letbetter – trumpet, Mac Wright – trombone, James Allen – piano and leader, Mike Beegle – saxophone, Richie Reddick – bass, Norman Clark – guitar, and David Carradine - drums. Side 1: “Scoobe,” “Can’t Get Down, If I Can’t Get Up,” “We’re All the Same,” “D.C. Walk,” and “You Had to Know.” Side Two: “Hold On,” “I’m For Real,” “So Sad,” “Super Strut,” and “Someday We’ll All Be Free.” This is one of my all-time favorite Funk/Soul albums - a must-have for the serious beats collector! Condition: Cover = solid VG++ (very light wear, no seam splits, IN SHRINK WARP), Record = beautiful VG++ (very light paper scuffs - plays through great!). Winning bidder to add $3.75 postage in the USA. Good luck - check out my other auctions for more vintage records for sale and save on combined postage costs!
