Rare original 1971 first pressing of the 2nd LEIGH STEPHENS on the old pink Charisma UK label (never released in the USA) ...much, much more rare than his first solo "RED WEATHER"...this one almost never turns up, especially clean... Leigh Stephens was the bombastic feedback guitar slinger with the original BLUE CHEER, recording on both "Vincebus Eruptum" and "Outside Inside" albums...
In late 1968, Stephens, who later described himself as the only member of Blue Cheer not to be "chemically challenged" (i.e., using drugs), was asked to leave the group after criticizing the behavior of his bandmates. He signed a solo deal with Philips and moved to Great Britain, where he recorded his debut solo album, Red Weather...two years later he released the much lesser known "Cast Of Thousands" which was more or less never really around...and not being released in the USA made it an unknown commodity to Blue Cheer fans..."And A Cast Of Thousands is a more accessible rocker with Leigh Stephens superb guitar work shining through...
