Description

i'm totally biased when it comes to this guy (along with dozens of rock critics and historians, i might add). i've seen him play in person and was awe-struck.  any one who has seen one of the PBS 'oldies' shows that had him singing his mega-hit, 'what in the world's come over you' backed by the original jordanaires know what i'm talking about. the packed pittsburgh house exploded into a standing ovation---like elvis, he came from a background rooted in country but heavily influenced by rhythm and blues.  in about a five or six year span he had a dozen or more solid hits in the late 50's-early 60's---4 of them are featured on this very first album of his---'my true love'   'leroy'   'the way i walk'   and  'goodby baby'  the latter a deceptively simple example of what rockabilly, R&B, rock and roll was all about during this time period.  this is the original carleton U.S. release.  it came from an 'easy listening' format radio station and did not get play there.   looks glossy UNPLAYED!!!  cover is glossy with no seam wear or damage---SOLID EXTRA NICE PIECE and, i feel, a bargain at the 'buy it now' price.  mono copy.
