The Beatles -  MEET THE BEATLES
Rare first US pressing STEREO LP Capitol Records ST-2047

MEET THE BEATLES was rush released by Capitol Records in January 1964 since the Beatles were arriving in the US, Since Capitol rushed to released it, true first pressings of MEET THE BEATLES had no publishing credits, no BMI or ASCAP, printed on the record label next to the song time. All subsequent pressings corrected this by listing the publisher credit on the record label with the song time. In 1964, most US homes had mono record players, so mono pressings of MEET THE BEATLES far out-numbered the stereo ones, hence true first pressings of MEET THE BEATLES in STEREO are very rare.

This is a true first pressing in stereo. Their are no BMI or ASCAP publishing credits on the record label, only the song time in parentheses after the song title. The back of the cover has a 3 by the RIAA logo indicating the Scranton, PA pressing plant. The back cover does NOT have the George Martin Producer credit.

Vinyl Condition: Visual grade VG/VG-.  When held at an arms length, the vinyl has retained its shine and luster. When held under a light, scratches and customary signs of wear for the VG minus grade are visible. Amazingly, this record plays better than it looks. I have played the record in it's entirety more times than I know and found it to be VG, somewhere between VG+/VG, but let's say closer to VG. Their are very minimal customary sound of wear for used records from the mid 60's but the sound of wear is minimal and never comes close to fading the fidelity. The sound of wear can of course be heard more between tracks  and the softer tracks are hardly effected.  I am just grading the record at VG/VG- due to visual surface wear and not to anger anyone, cos I would love to keep my 100% rating.  Cover Sleeve Conditions: VG++ and Gorgeous. Very light color fading on the back and the spine is in VG condition.  The front of the cover is immaculate.  The back shows slight discoloration due to Father Time, but 'tis all.
