PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE Original 1976 first pressing of the great French progressive band, ATLANTIDE, produced by the famous JEAN-PIERRE MASSIERA (Visitors, Horrfic Child, After Life, Human Egg, Maledictus Sound) ...
ATLANTIDE is largely regarded as one of musical producer and engineer Jean-Pierre Massiera's major 70s projects, rather than being highlighted as a short-lived ensemble. While their sole, self-titled album failed on the path towards popularity and promotion, it is instead significantly appreciated for the classic-sounding, obscure progressive treat it mirrors.
Musicianship-wise, ATLANTIDE contains both guitarist Bernard Torelli (guitars) and vocalist Patrick Atrali of the Visitors experience a year earlier. Jean-Marc Mountain (Orion, Carpe Diem) was also invited to the band, playing drums, along with Jean-Luc Cream (bongos) and bassist Aldo Lacomelli...
Brainstorming over the initial sketches, mastering the melodies, pushing the arrangements into the complex, modulating, and rehearsing during many night sessions - included both Mellotron and the sitar (Torrelli playing both). Atlantide's only album consists of skillfully played progressive adventures that remind of the best parts of circa 1972 era YES, including incredible Steve Howe like guitar runs and virtuoso playing. Infact, though their sound is quite derivative of Yes, they sound amazing, since they don't use keyboards! Well... they *do* use them, but it's quite hard to notice, and there's no keyboardist credited on the album; guitarist Torrelli would be our guess! The bass/drums work is outstanding as well, and, as mentioned, guitarist Torrelli pulling out some very Howe-esque riffs. The vocals are soft and gentle, very "French", but without those boring recitations and speeches that many French bands insist on putting on their albums. This is straight symphonic prog rock that'll sure please most prog-heads
