Description
(12" 78 rpm) ODÉON 171088 (France)
Lucienne RADISSE, cello, with unknown pianist.
GRANADOS:
"Intermezzo" (Goyescas)
"Andaluza"
RARE RECORD BY A FRENCH FEMALE VIRTUOSO Lucienne RADISSE (1899-1997), a cellist of good reputation and a singular personality, was highly appreciated by CASALS who did say that she "(turns) her instrument into an almost heavenly lyre", and also by musical critics around the world, and has played a long time at the radio. She has recorded chamber with Jean DOYEN. She has been also an actress in movies, a pilot of planes and of race cars. NICE CLEAR DYNAMIC SOUND DESPITE SOME LOCAL FACTORY NOISE (described above)
SLEEVE CONDITION: modern sleeve
RECORD CONDITION : visual VG (a bit cloudy surface by places, surely from dampness, not from use ; few cosmetic traces, 1 scratch at beginnning of a side, 1" long, but not sounding ; plays VG+ except some light wax frying on the second half of each side, from wax quality, ending at increased level and a bit disturbing, though the cello is still clear and higher, but with some distorsion on few notes ; also on B-side beginning few light thuds during 20 seconds, from wax quality) /// sticker on each label
