### Ultra-Rare German Audiophile Test Pressing / White Label Promo LP (DECCA Stereo SXL 2296 Reissue)


Up for auction is one of the absolute greatest crown jewels of the audiophile world: an authentic **German Test Pressing / White Label Promo** ("Unverkäufliche Musterplatte") of the April 1997 audiophile reissue of Manuel de Falla's vibrant ballet masterpiece *The Three-Cornered Hat* (originally recorded in February 1960 at Victoria Hall, Geneva).


Ansermet's legendary reading of this fiery Spanish score is a perennial contender on definitive audiophile "Super Disc" lists due to its staggering clarity, deep acoustic stage, and thunderous bass transients. Featuring the sublime vocals of mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza, it remains a supreme reference recording for testing high-end systems. Remastered directly from the original analogue session tapes, the lacquers were cut in London by legendary engineer Tony Hawkins and Paschal Byrne at DECCA using a Neumann VMS 80 lathe with a Studer A 80 tape machine. Pressed onto premium **180g Virgin Vinyl** in Germany, the commercial run was limited to 1,000 copies per stamper. An advance *Musterplatte* test pressing like this is vanishingly rare and represents the ultimate prize for serious classical music collectors.
