Welcome to my doo-wop and r&b and blues sale! This week features a great batch of titles on LP, 45 and 78. Also this week are two rare pieces of doo-wop history - autographed items by The Orioles (very early group shot and signatures) and The Flamingos. Up for sale is a rare, perhaps one of a kind treasure and could be looked at as the holy grail for R&B or vocal group collectors! This 8x10 publicity photo has been inscribed and signed by baritone GEORGE NELSON, front man SONNY TIL and TOMMY GAITHER, the ill-fated guitarist who died in an automobile accident on Nov 5, 1950 while driving home from a show in Hempstead, New York. The original owner of the photo had to have obtained their autographs in 1949, the year Shaw Artists replaced the Gale Agency as the Orioles booking agent, or sometime in 1950 before Tommy's untimely death. His signature alone makes this an extremely rare piece of group history as it is nearly impossible to obtain elsewhere.
Gloria (to whom the photo is inscribed), placed this photo into a scrapbook from where it was finally removed. Hence the photo itself is adhered onto construction paper like material. The new owner can devise their own plan for framing / memorializing this rare piece of doo wop history.
The signatures, while not authenticated, are guaranteed to be authentic. This is the real deal and I welcome any questions or inquiries regarding the piece and will attempt to answer to the best of my ability!

Grading: I grade conservatively on a scale of: NM (rarely applied to a used record, must look absolutely pristine), EX (a true top copy worthy of any collection with 1 or 2 truly minor imperfections), VG+ (a minimal amount of marks may be seen under bright light with none deep enough to significantly effect playback), VG (perfectly good playing copy but may show slightly more than minimal marks with 1 or 2 maximum being feelable), VG- (still an eminently listenable record that will show numerous superficial and possibly several more impacting marks), G (will play through but could be a "noisy" listen the result of numerous surface marks of various severities).
