Please be aware that all records are VISUALLY graded only - all grades are given based on how they appear under my desk lamp - since I do not own a record player. I cannot guarantee that discs will be click and skip free, although any marks and scratches that might possibly cause such problems will be highlighted clearly in the description.

This auction is for a very rare and highly collectible DECCA contract pressing of the Beatles debut LP 'Please Please Me' on the Parlophone label.
When 'With the Beatles' was release at the end of 1963 the album it knocked from the number 1 spot was Please Please Me. So EMI had this overwhelming demand not only for the huge sales of the Beatles' debut album, but also their follow-up album. It's my opinion that this demand got so great at the end of 1963 that EMI contracted Decca to press a number of copies to keep on top of this demand. I believe that Decca were contracted to run off a quantity of both Please Please Me and With The Beatles album at this time. This would explain why it's easier to find With The Beatles with the Decca ring than Please Please Me, as by then demand for their debut album was waning and selling far fewer copies by this point.
It's very easy to spot a Decca contract pressing of Please Please Me as it features the very prominent Decca 'ring' and also the smaller 'polo' sized inner indentation.
Make no mistake - Decca only ever ran off a very tiny percentage of Please Please Me albums and, today, are extremely rare and incredibly difficult to find! This copy is a little rough but being offered due to its very high rarity factor, and would be perfect as a collection filler until a better one comes along.

The cover is holding up okay but is showing its age. It's holding but looking a little rough. The front is nice and clean with a great colour and just a little laminate rubbing. Quite a few noticeable laminate creases running around the edges. Top and bottom seams have a little wear and have split at them mouth edge for a few inches, but overall are holding okay. Spine has a few little creases running through it but is holding good. Back is a little creamed and has a some light browning from rubbing on the mouth edge and spine egdge. 'Rawlings' is written in tiny letters under the Emitex word bottom right. There are a few light stains and there's a tear along the edge of the overflap that runs up to 'EMI Hayes'. So, yeah. Looking a bit rough but, overall, still holding. Disc (Visually Graded Only!!) : G+
The playing surface has a nice shine to it but is covered in light scuffs and marks along with a few slightly heavier looking scuffs. Looks like it'd play with a fair amount of light crackle. There's also a very light warp on the edge, at 4 o'clock if you were looking at side 1.
