Empress Of The Blues Bessie Smith (1894-1937) died over 10 years before the advent of the 7" single. In 1951 Columbia pressed the original recordings of St. Louis Blues/Cold In Hand Blues, both of which feature Louis Armstrong at the height of his awesome powers, on the then-new 45RPM format; neither side was ever again reissued as a single. You seldom see any 1951 Bessie Smith 45s offered for sale. Do an eBay search & good luck; this historic, hyper-rare 7" vinyl has been out-of-issue for almost 70 years!
