RARE!!! BLONDIE PARALLEL LINES CLEAR VINYL LP 1978 HOLLAND IMPORT ***NEAR MINT*** looks unplayed. Great collectible!!
Blondie is straight up, undeniable star power. Debbie Harry has model looks, charisma by the bucketload, and a voice full of energy, personality and swagger. The band's third studio album saw them transition from catchy power-punk nuggets to massive, hook-filled rock anthems. Parallel Lines has some of Blondie’s most well-known songs: Hanging On The Telephone, One Way Or Another and I’m Gonna Love You Too are enduring moments of brilliance....and then comes the sleek, classy Heart Of Glass. A number one single in the UK and US that sold over a million copies in both territories, it gave new wave its first genuine SUPERSTAR act.
In 1979, Blondie appeared on Burt Sugarman’s The Midnight Special to perform several tracks from Parallel Lines. The band played Heart of Glass, and Harry gave a mesmerising performance, her voice effortlessly rich. Midway through the show, Harry included a spoken-word message, including the words, “It is time for all Americans to take control of their own lives and stop being pushed around” and “the race for nuclear superiority can only end with the destruction of civilisation.”
Certainly one of the coolest groups of the ’80s, Blondie was also rather forward-thinking, the first mainstream group to bridge rock and rap.
