This is a very nice clean copy of the classic BLUE NOTE album, KENNY BURRELL : "MIDNIGHT BLUE", with KENNY BURRELL, Guitar, STANLEY TURRENTINE, Tenor Sax, MAJOR HOLLEY, Bass, BILL ENGLISH, Drums, and RAY BARRETTO, Congas. This is hard swinging late 1950's Hard Bop at its best!

This LP was released in the late 1950's, and this is an original pressing. It features the well known Blue and White BLUE NOTE label. It features the BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC. NEW YORK CITY address on the labels. The run out groove has the "ear" as well as the Rudy Van Gelder stamp. It also has the matrix BN LP 4123 A (and B) in the run out grooves. The labels are clean, with light spindle marks. The LP itself is the nice, thick heavy vinyl associated with these late 1950s - early 1960s pressings. This LP is in very conservatively rated VG+ condition, with clean, bright playing surfaces. There are only a few light visible marks. No feelable scratches. Very nice copy of this Blue Note classic. 
I have played this LP, and it plays beautifully, with almost no back round noise. The sound is beautiful...that classic, gorgeous, rich Blue Note sound, but of course, there might be an occasional pop or click. This is a 60 year old record, and its not absolutely flawless, but very nice and listenable...it's all about the music, and this LP plays great! 
The classic heavy glossy laminated cardboard cover is in VG condition, with solid spine, and solid top and bottom seams. There is a small corner "ding" on upper right corner (see pics). There is some staining on back bottom of jacket (see pics), and a tiny piece of the back slick at the bottom left corner in the shape of a triangle (about 1/2"), is missing (see pics). There are small seam splits, about 1 inch on top right, and 1/2 inch, at the bottom right opening of the jacket. There is slight peeling of the laminate on the right front of the jacket (see pics). The LP cover has moderate shelf wear for an album that is close to 60 years old. The classic cover artwork, with its distinctive graphics, and photo by FRANCIS WOLFF, is sharp and clear. 

I have been collecting Rare Jazz LPs for many years. This is one from my personal collection. I assure you, all the LPs I will be offering here have been meticulously taken care of, and only played rarely, on a Sota Sapphire Turntable, with a Grado Reference Cartridge. They have been kept inside a temperature controlled room in my home, in plastic dust jackets. In other words, you can bid in confidence, knowing these LPs come from someone who has loved them and babied them. I reluctantly am beginning to sell some of my LPs, and hope they go to someone who will love them as I have.
