Description

Joe Hill Louis, Memphis Blues and Breakdowns (Advent LP 2803) (1967).

First-ever reissue LP of the Memphis one-man band, drawn from his 1949-53 recordings for Columbia, Modern and Sun. Notes by John Holt. Jacket drawing by Ray Topping. An early and possibly limited-edition release on the Advent label when it was still based in the UK.

Heartache Baby/I Feel Like a Million/Cold Chills/Boogie in the Park/Eyesight to the Blind/Walkin' Talkin' Blues/Street Walkin' Woman/Gotta Go Baby//Big Legged Woman/Railroad Blues/A-Jumpin' and a-Shufflin'/She May Be Yours/Going Down Slow/Joe's Jump/Don't Trust Your Best Friend/We All Gotta Go Sometime

Condition: disc excellent, with no visible wear or damage. Jacket has a bruised and slit area about 1 1/2" long on the top edge, and a small mark on the front in the top righthand corner, caused by glue residue from a removed sticker. Some creasing at top left- and bottom righthand corners. Fading at edges. No other slitting. An excellent playing copy of this very scarce item.
