Description
Artist: Kjell Karlsen bigband Single: BIG P / Long John Silver
Label: Viking music Year: 1963
Condition Media: Strong VG++ WOW! Probably the rarest slice of modern jazz to ever have been pressed up in Norway. A great jazz double sider with a killer hard-bop take on 'BIG P'. The line-up contains all the ACE players of the early 60's Norwegian jazz scene: Frode Thingnes, Atle Hammer, Bjorn Johansen and Eric Andresen to mention a few. Was compiled a few years ago and "Big P" is often heard in the DJ sets of Italian maestro Nicola Conte. Also check out the loose scatty B-side 'Long John silver' an original composition by Kjell Karlsen himself. You won't find this one in your neighbourhood so bid accordingly. Check soundclip
