Description

Rare BBC Transcription Service 4 record set (7 sides) from 1963 of Benjamin Britten's opera Billy Budd. Conducted by the composer with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Sung by Peter Pears, Joseph Ward, Michael Langdon with the BBC Mens Chorus and the choir of Watford Boys' Grammar School. Britten arranged the opera into two acts. Duration: Act 1 (79:16), Act 2 (71:51). Includes a sheet of program notes, and an announcer script. The 4 records are VG++ with a few very light surface scuffs.
