Description
This rare, vintage, 10" 78 rpm record is by Clarence Ashley (banjo accomp.) on the Columbia label (15489-D) and features "Dark Holler Blues" and "The Coo-Coo Bird". While we have no way to play this record, it appears to be in VG+ condition, with no significant scratching or scuffing visible on the playing surface. There is, however, a record store label placed on top of the original label on one side. This label can be seen in the photo.
This item will be well packaged to protect from breakage, however we cannot be responsible for damage occuring after product has shipped. For this reason, insurance is highly recommended. Insurance rates are as follows: $1.35 for up to $50.00 of coverage; $2.30 for $50.01 to $100 of coverage.
Grading Scale (based on visible evaluation only):
MINT ---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.
NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws.
VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.
VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails.
GOOD ---- Looks well played with little luster.
POOR ---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above "Good" grading should be seen as Poor.
