Description

Rare color sleeve to the Edison Diamond Disc version of the Music Of Victory and Liberty. The National Airs To The Allies and Mr Edison's Message To The American People.

This is an original Edison sleeve from from the post WW I era. I used to get this record occasionally but never had the sleeve. Now I have the sleeve and haven't found a record so I'll pass it on.

The sleeve is in pretty fine shape and from a little recent research, I'd say better than what's been offered in the past few years, but then I don't look as often as some of you, I'm sure. There are some small tears along the edges. 1 1/2" tear at bottom center and 1 1/2" tear at right corner but no missing paper. Sides and bottom have some splitting but not enough for a record to fall out.  # in pencil , front and back, will erase if desired. Ultra slight ring wear on F in center of front and some disc edge ring on back, this looks like it will erase if desired. A little foxing top right  and scattered lightly down the edge, slight toning on top edge. Top edge has some curl but no missing paper. Looks like the sleeve could clean with little effort. First pic has glare, other pics of front show more what the sleeve looks like though my pics wash out the black lettering somewhat. Possibly still good enough to photo shop for reproducing. Crossouts in the speech text are printed and supposed to be there.

This auction is for the sleeve only, there is no record. Sleeve lists up to the 1916 patent date on lower back.
