This auction is for a very rare and hard to find Elvis Presley Sun Records 45.

It was Elvis Presley's very first 45 on Sun Records. 

This 45 was recorded on July 5th 1954 by Sam C. Phillips at the Sun Studio in Memphis & was originally released as Sun 209 on 7-19-54.

This original, highly valuable, SUN 1954 pressing of "That's All Right" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" is the real deal. You can tell by the 3 push marks on the center of the disc coming through the original SUN label. The Matrix Numbers U-128-45-72 and U-129-45-72 are noticeable on the outer grooves.

The method of distinguishing 1950’s Suns from the 1970’s Suns is to look at the last two digits of the serial number in the trail-off - the 72 on the first four Suns, the 20 on the fifth. On the originals (50's), the last two digits are approximately ½ inch from the other digits. On the 1970's Suns, the distance is doubled, to just over an inch. It is these fine details that identify the album as an original from 1954 and not the later reproduction of this album.

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1954 VERSION, WITH the serial number on the outer groves and the last 2 digits 72 being placed ½ inch from the other digits.

'Blue Moon of Kentucky'

This record comes with the Sun Label that I received it in. The record is in good condition, with some minor scratches form wear, age, & use. There is a deeper scratch on the 'Blue Moon of Kentucky' side that causes the record to skip at times and others times it doesn't. There is a small rectangular shaped white sticker with the number 2 printed on it located on the record. The sticker is just below the words "Vocal U-128" on the 'That's All Right' side of the album. My uncle gave me this album for my 18th birthday some years ago, and I never asked where he got it from. However, on the inside of the Sun label Sleeve someone has written "found 7-10-70, paid 25 cents".

The entire album and sleeve is inside a protective clear plastic sleeve to keep dust and other items off of it. There are  3 push marks on the center of the disc coming through the original SUN label, and the serial number within the correct space and distancing in the numbers to all verify that this album is an original from 1954. I have taken several photographs and although some are not perfectly focused you can see the condition of the album is Good and has only the normal scratches that you would expect for an album of this age. I have had the album for over 20 years and the first time I played it was prior to this listing to check for skipping.

I have placed a Reserve price on this auction due to the value of the item I am not willing to sell it for less than my reserve.
