Eric Dolphy was a master of several instruments- Jazz Alto Saxophonist, Flutist, & Bass Clarinetist. The sounds he created were brilliant and his improvisational style is considered one of the finest avant garde jazz albums recorded. There is a rhythmic momentum throughout- accompanied with a quintet of extraordinary musicians- Freddie Hubart (trumpet), Bobby Hutcherson (vibes), Richard Davis (bass), & Anthony Williams (drums).
On the back of the album, Eric's work is greatly admired by his contemporaries, even imitated by some. Eric has worked with Mingus, Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane, Gunther Schuller, and Oliver Nelson. Absolutely Spectacular
