Description
A very rare album entitled, "The Early Moles", a psychedelic rock group that formed in 1964 in Lebanon, TN and played at local events in the area. Members included Billy James on Guitar & Singer (also played Flute, Violin & Alto Sax), Mike Laine on Bass, Trumpet & Vocals, Harry Austin on Drums (replaced Steve Quarles), Vocals & Trumpet, Townley Johnson on Flute, Sax, Piano & Vocals, and Louis Perner on Hammond Organ & Trumpet.They became more famous when they moved to Daytona Beach at the encouragement of Gregg Allman, and played gigs including one with the London Philharmonic. They were on the front page of the local newspaper and then it hit the national wire. They played all over after this. At a Battle of the Bands contest, they even outplayed the Allman Brothers. A total of 4 albums were made and they quit the business in 1976. This album, "The Early Moles" was made in 1973 with only 500 copies pressed which makes this extremely rare. Album cover still has some of the shrink wrap on it. There is some slight discoloration on the right side of the cover (Front). Vinyl is in VG++ condition with very minor scuffs & scratches.
