Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SHIPPING: USA ~ 1 LP = $4.00 Media Priority rates vary by area; please inquire. Very rare actually is the (perfect condition) STILL FACTORY SEALED ages ago second press from 37 years ago ... this was the first "second press" that ever appeared of this mega-rarity record and here a never opened 37 years ago issue of that very LP release.
STILL FACTORY SEALED
- The Index : legendary garage rock/psychedelic rock band from Grosse Point, Michigan who were active from 1966-1969 and are known for a sound characterized by unique basement quality droning guitars, as heard on their only album, released in 1968. Though they remained largely unknown for a number of years, since the 1980s of last century, they have come to attention of garage & rock collectors in a very big way.
- The Index were formed in 1966 as a guitar trio called "Chicken Every Sunday", when lead guitarist John B. Ford along with rhythm guitarist and bassist Gary Francis decided to start another band and asked drummer Jim Valice to join their new vision: INDEX
- The INDEX album is best known for the fact that it's one of the rarest and also one of the most valuable American psychedelic rock vinyl records. The original pressing is a true collector's item and worth a lot of money - or more than you'd EVER consider spending on a teen-scene platter of vinyl.
- On the musical point of view this record is a good mix of raw garage rock and psychedelia. Most of the material on this album is entertaining and solid.
- The passionately apathetic vocals, the slacky guitar playing, the really bouncy, off kilter rhythm section, and the lo-fi production belong to the mid sixties teen-scene GARAGE glories, the main traits apparent in later influencing, grunge, midwest emo, indie rock, pretty much anything in that category. It's a time-bending tape of sorcery involving garage with surf edges.
- Is it the listener here or is the INDEX version of "Eight Miles High" better than the Byrds storied release (?!?)
