Description
Description:
Here’s a true garage rock monster: The Phantom Five on the tiny Skull Records label with “Cool It!” b/w “Graveyard.”
About the Artist & Label:
• The Phantom Five were a raw 1960s garage combo whose snarling fuzz and teen-punk edge epitomize the DIY garage scene of the era.
• Released on the obscure Skull Records imprint, instantly recognizable with its skull logo and ultra-limited press runs.
• Both songs (“Cool It!” and “Graveyard”) are original compositions credited to Phantom Five, making this a holy grail for garage-punk collectors.
Why Collectors Want This:
• Ultra-scarce Skull label releases are known for low distribution and regional issue only.
• A top want in the 60s garage / teen-punk / crypt records collector community.
Condition: VG (vinyl shows scuffs and play wear, labels have discoloration and tape from original preservation, but plays through well with strong energy).
Provenance: From the private collection of a legendary Detroit crate-digger and one-time DJ. This copy bears his preservation methods — label taping and etched notations in the deadwax — adding authenticity and provenance.
This is not just a record — it’s provenance. You’re holding a piece of rock history from an epic collection of rare 45’s, filled with dj copies and promos of early northern soul, doo-woo, rockabilly, detroit garage and psyche rock.
Artist: The Phantom Five
