RARE Halo of Flies TEST PRESSING Winged AmRep Haze XXL
Up for auction is a SUPER RARE test pressing of Halo of Flies Winged 7". The normal production single was released in 1990 & was a free giveaway to new subscribers of Forced Exposure Magazine (this came with Forced Exposure #19 & is catalog #FE-019) & featured covers of The Cramps' Human Fly & The Urinals I'm a Bug but of course with the distinct HOF sound.
This is #4/27 test pressings that were ever produced & features an alternate cover to the normal Winged 7" that was never used. The sleeve has an image of Andres Serrano's Heaven and Hell photo adhered to the basic paper sleeve & it has the title & Serrano's name written on the fron in metallic violet pen. I've asked Haze (from HOF) as to who wrote this on there & he can't remember for certain but he said it was probably someone at Forced Exposure. The back of the sleeve is hand typed & says: "HALO OF FLIES "Winged" Test Pressing #4 of 27. (the "4" is also in metallic violet) FE-019." The single itself is in pristine condition & is unmarked other than the paper label that has the words "Date", "Record No." & "Test Pressing" all of which have been left blank.
Track listings are:
Side A: Human Fly
Side B: I'm a Bug
Haven't ever seen one of these on eBay before but there probably hasn't been many given the small amount of test pressings made of this & that it's 17 years old so were starting the bidding low with no reserve. Good luck!
