Royal Hawaiian Girls Glee Club (vocal by "Hilo Hattie" Kalala Haili) "Hilo Hattie Does The Hilo Hop" b/w Honolulu Police Glee Club "Ulili E" - HT-200/205. You can listen to samples on the audio player above. Just click on the play button. Some background from noted Hawaiian music discographer and historian Malcolm Rockwell: "These are original issues of the Hawaiian Transcriptions and HT/KGU record labels. Hawaiian Transcriptions was the first indy record label in Hawaii. They were recorded in the 1930s by KGU (Radio) which was part of the Advertiser publishing group. The studios were on the top floor of the Advertiser Newspaper building and, when instantaneous lacquer disc recording machines first became available generally, KGU was the first in Hawaii to have them. They marketed these records with the lovely lei design to KGU's loyal fans who had been clamoring for records they could own of their favorite local radio performers. All were pressed in Los Angeles." Please see shipping calculator for shipping cost. Please also note: Shipping cost includes sturdy box and packing materials for safe shipping.
