Barney Blair Perry recorded the magnificent "Night Life" LP in Washington, D.C., in 1978. In the title track, he created one of the finest jazz-funk numbers of all time, though he was no newcomer to the music business. Among his earlier work was with The Blackbyrds - he wrote their most famous track, "Walking In Rhythm", for example. Featuring backing from (among others) Marva Hicks and Angela Winbush, "Night Life" builds and builds into a truly awesome piece of music, and the UK belatedly released it as a 12" the following year. I already have the LP, and it's time to thin down my collection a bit. This 12" is in fantastic condition, with hardly a mark on it. In fact, the only marks are five put on by the maker as queuing aids for DJ's, marking the places where the tempo changes, or suitable guides to mix in and out. The 12" is still in it's original die-cut company cover, which is also in great condition.
